Leichhardt Women’s Community Health Centre provides health care, counselling and health education to women and girls living in Sydney’s inner west, inner city and south western suburbs.

Aboriginal Medical Service

AMS Redfern offers a range of medical services for eligible Aboriginal patients including a general medical clinic staffed with General Practitioners (GP’s), nursing staff and Aboriginal Health Workers, medical specialist services (for existing patients), allied health, mental health, drug and alcohol, public health and a dental clinic.

Our medical clinic is a walk-in service and offers a full range of health services including GP Consultations. No appointment is necessary to access this clinic. Additional Services

Medicare Card Holders

Are entitled to a range of rebates, most notably 10 sessions per calendar
year of focused psychological strategies for an assessed mental health
issue such as depression, anxiety or sleep disorder. To access, book a
long appointment with a GP and ask for a “Mental Health Treatment Plan’’.
People with a chronic condition (greater than 6 months of symptoms)
can access a further 5 sessions by asking your GP for a “Chronic Disease
Management Plan” at the same time (this can save you the extra
appointment fees for your GP if they don’t bulk bill.

If you have been involved in an accident as a road user...

If you have been involved in a road accident, any kind of road user (driver,
passenger, cyclist, pedestrian) can make a claim for assessment and
treatment of any injury including psychological injuries, like trauma, sleep problems, anxiety or depression.
To claim you can use the car registration plate of the vehicle involved on the RMS website and the RMS will advise you of the Compulsory Third Party Insurer who will pay for your treatment. Service NSW can be found HERE
